Release Period Information

Release Forms will be available in the Counseling Office starting after school on the first day of school and will follow the same timeline and deadline as Schedule Change Request Forms.

Students with a release period in their schedule MUST submit a completed Release Form by the schedule change request deadline.

  • Students who ALREADY HAVE a release period in their scheulde must still submit a completed Release Form.
  • Students WITHOUT a release period in their schedule may request a release by submitting a Schedule Change Request Form AND a Release Form.
  • Both forms must be submitted to request a release period.

Release Period Agreements:

  • Release periods are available for students in 12th grade. Students in 11th grade may be considered with Administration approval.
  • Requesting this release period could alter the placement of and/or teacher for other courses in the student's schedule.
    • Release periods may only be scheduled at the beginning and/or end of the school day.
  • If a release is possible, the resulting schedule will be the student's final schedule.
  • Parent(s)/guardian(s) and Counselor must approve of release periods.
  • Students are expected to leave or not come to school during release periods. (Some students may have different needs. If you or your student needs an exception to this rule, contact your Assistant Principal.)
  • Release periods are considered a privilege; administration may revoke this privilege.
