This is a 12th grade survey of government principles and applications,.  Course objectives are: to obtain an overview of the United States governmental powers and an understanding and awareness of national and international affairs, to develop a knowledge of the U.S. Constitution, the three main branches of the government, and its application at the international and state level, and to have an awareness of our individual role in the democratic process.   Students will gain knowledge of our complex economy and learn the roles individual play in the economy in order to prepare students for effective decision-making and responsible citizenship. This course meets Minnesota State Standards for Government and Economics.
