Bienvenue à la classe française!
La Tour Eiffel!

Welcome to the French page!  I am thrilled to have you in my class, and am looking forward to an excellent year at Southwest High School.

Please be sure that you are aware of and following the instructions found below:

  • Come to class on-time, prepared, and with a positive attitude.  Tardiness will not be accepted, make sure you have a pass.
  • Cell phones/ear buds are not allowed unless specifically instructed by the teacher, they will be taken after a warning. Multiple violations will result in the device being taken to the office for the day, or even picked up by parents. Leave them in your bag, not on your desk.
  • Homework is to be completed before the beginning of the hour.
  • Should you be absent, check with me or a classmate to see what was missed. Missed assignments need to be made up in a reasonable amount of time, may vary depending on situation. Unexcused absences will result in a zero for all missed work.
  • If you know you will be absent, let me know ahead of time and I can get you any missing work and you can stay caught up.
  • French class should be fun!  If you are completing your work, participating in class, and paying attention throughout class, you will be a successful student.  If you are applying yourself in and out of French class, but are still struggling, don't hesitate to stop by and see me.

About Me and Contact Information

Students at our farewell dinner in Paris!

The best and quickest way to reach me is through my email at

If you are struggling in my class for any reason, if you need accomodations, or just feel like you could use some extra help I am available in my classroom before 1st hour and after school in room W316. Let me know ahead of time if you can!

I graduated from St. Cloud State University in 2011. In 2012-2013, I went to France to help teach English for seven months. I lived with a French family in Caen, Basse-Normandie (Lower Normandy), France. I also studied abroad while at SCSU for four months in southern France, also living with a French family in the small town of Aix-en-Provence, in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur region. Throughout both trips I traveled to other parts of France and I managed to travel to other countries including the Czech Republic, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and England.

In the Spring of 2016 I took 6 students on a two week exchange trip to Lyon, France and Paris. We are planning on hosting students from the school we visited in the Fall!

If you're ever interested in studying abroad feel free to ask me questions! It is a worthwhile experience for anyone hoping to become fluent in another language!
