SOUTHWEST PARENT CONNECTIONS (SWPC)

A class for 9th grade parents to assist you in preparing your student for a successful high school career. 2012-13 SWPC topics include:

•       Understanding the Southwest High School system

•       How to support your student and promote balance between school, activities, and family

•       Ways to get involved at SWHS – for both the parent and student

•       Requirements needed to get into college: GPA, Classes, testing, etc

•       Higher education options and expectations for the future

•       College and financial aid

All classes will be held at SWHS Media Center on the following dates:

•       Thurs, Nov 8 6:00-7:00 pm: Balancing Coursework, Sports, Clubs and Family Commitments

•       Thurs, Jan 17 6:30- 8:00pm: Parent Portal and Naviance Workshop

•       Thurs, Feb 21 6:30- 8:00 pm: College Fair for Parents (4 reps from local colleges and universities)
