Members of NHS plan and participate in a variety of community service projects throughout the year.   In recent years, Southwest NHS has sent volunteers to tutor at the Oakwood Residence.  We have also raised funds to purchase turkeys for families in need prior to Thanksgiving, Tutorial instruction for younger students, at Southwest and nearby schools, is ongoing throughout the year.  Additional information will be forthcoming during the next few weeks.

NHS Blood Drives

Southwest students and staff set a school record on November 9, 2012 when 125 units of blood were donated to the Memorial Blood Centers. In recognition of this accomplishment, the Blood Centers donated 125 pounds of food to Second Harvest, a regonal food shelf.  In addition, MBC contributed $3,300 to Southwest, to be put toward the cost of college tuition for three designated recipients.  The first school blood drive for the curent school year is scheduled for Tuesday, September 29th.
