NHS Service
NHS members after landscaping for Habitat for Humanity, September 2010

Members of NHS plan and participate in a variety of community service projects throughout the year.   For October-December, we expect to be sending volunteers to tutor at the Oakwood Residence, getting turkey donations prepared for distribution prior to Thanksgiving, and providing tutorial instruction for younger students.  For additional information, please contact Sail Varma or other members of the NHS Board .

Habitat for Humanity Saturdays

Southwest NHS volunteered three times at Habitat sites during the 2012-2013 school year.  Volunteer dates for the current school year will be publicized in October, 2014.

NHS Blood Drives

Southwest students and staff set a school record on November 9, 2012 when 125 units of blood were donated to the Memorial Blood Centers. In recognition of this accomplishment, the Blood Centers donated 125 pounds of food to Second Harvest, a regonal food shelf.  In addition, MBC contributed $3,300 to Southwest, to be put toward the cost of college tuition for three designated recipients.  The first school blood drive for the curent school year is scheduled for Tuesday, September 30th
