Members of NHS plan and participate in a variety of community service projects throughout the year.   For November-December, we are working on sending volunteers to tutor at the Oakwood Residence, and getting turkey donations off the ground, and providing tutorial instruction.  For additional information, please see Ben Kurschner, or other NHS Board members.

Habitat for Humanity outings
On Saturday, December 15, 2012 and then again on Saturday, February 9, Southwest NHS students are encouraged to show up to help on the construction of Habitat for Humanity homes. Additional details will be forthcoming.

NHS Blood Drives
Southwest students and staff set a school record on November 9, 2012 when 125 units of blood were donated to the Memorial Blood Centers. In recognition of this accomplishment, the Blood Centers will donate 125 pounds of food to Second Harvest, a regonal food shelf. In addition, the Blood Centers will donate $900to Southwest for scholarship purposes, to be designated at the end of the school year.
