National Honor Society (NHS) is a nation-wide organization for students recognized for their scholarship, leadership, service, and character. 

Prospective members are invited to apply as seniors, juniors, and, as of Spring 2014, sophomores.  To be considered, applicants must have a 3.5 GPA and be able to demonstrate a commitment to Southwest High School, the community at large, academic excellence, and extra-curricular participation.

* Accepted NHS Fall 2014 applicants will be notified of their status by Thursday, October 16th, on this website.  
 
* The 2014-2015 NHS induction ceremony will be held on Tuesday, October 28th, from 7:00 PM to 8:30.  Light refreshments will be servedThis is a semi-informal event, so inductees should dress accordingly.
Additional details will be forthcoming.
 
The following applicants have been accepted for membership into Southwest National Honor Society this past month.  Those who have been accepted, and those who were accepted last spring, are expected to attend the NHS induction ceremony, held in the Southwest auditorium, on October 28th (see above).  Please see the NHS advisor as soon as possible if you are unable to attend.  Those applicants who were not accepted are urged to reapply in Spring 2015.  The following applicants have been accepted:
