Community Partnership School Information

Southwest is now a Community Partnership School, which essentially means our governance is not limited to the principal, but also involves a Leadership Council comprised of staff, students, and parents. As the Council looks to next year's membership, we are recruiting parents, staff, and students who will be strong, active, and supportive Leadership members.

Our decision making process involves the Leadership Council and Subcommittees. The leadership council meetings are open to the public and meet on the second Monday of each month in the Southwest Media Center from 3:30 to 5:30.

Real school policy changes will happen at the committee level.  Leadership Council will look at recommendations from committees, and vote on their recommendations. Leadership will be important in terms of passing recommendations, but new initiatives will come from committee work.  We are now recruiting a broader base of membership for standing and special committees.
