Being selected to this nationally recognized organization is one of the highest honors bestowed on a high school student. The National Honor Society strives to recognize the whole student. Membership acceptance is based upon a student'soutstanding performance in the areas of: scholarship, service, leadership, andcharacter
A student is never inducted simply because of high academic average. The National Honor Society strives to recognize the student as a whole. The SW Honor Societychapter enforces selection rules as established by the national organization.
Membership, however, is more than an honor roll. Members have the responsibility and obligation to demonstrate the outstanding qualities thatresulted in your selection.
Your membership carries a responsibility to the chapter. For our chapter to be effective and meaningful, each member must become involved. You must fulfill your service obligations by participation in our chapter projects. You are expected to attend a monthly meeting.
The NHS Southwest Chapter has worked hard to bring the accomplishmentsof outstanding students to the attention of parents, teachers, peers, and community. To become a member you must take the pledge of membership and sign the membership section of the NHS Constitution.
The officers of the Southwest Chapter will monitor your participationin the activities and meetings of the chapter. They may recommend your removal to the Faculty Committee if you do not meet expectations for participation inthe chapter.
