We hope you are excited for the 2014- 15 Wrestling season. This summer, we had a bunch of guys attend wrestling camps at Patrick Henry HS (with Olympians, Dan Chandler & Garret Lowney.) Our wrestlers also atended camps at Augburg College & St John's Univ. In July we had our 2nd- Annual SW QWresling Camp with Augburg Coaches Mark Matzek and Jim Moulsoff. We cooked-out, Ate Burgers and Dogs, and made ourselve a little bit better.
PRE-SEASON WEIGHT TRAINING STARTS THE FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL: MON, WED, FRI 7:00 AM IN THE SW WEIGHT ROOM. all wrestlers should be there! Invite Your Friends! This is where you will learn proper lifting techniques and increase your stength, power, explosiveness, flexibility & muscle endurance.
We Hope you are playing a FALL SPORT. Wrestling is competitive- you have to be the best at your weight class if you want to make varsity.
SET YOUR GOALS HIGH! Visualize yourself standing on the podium winning Springfield or Burnsville Tournament. Visualize yourself beating that opponent who beat you last year. Visualize yourself taking a hard-fought 3rd -place at sections and practice the mental peparation you will need to win trrue-second and qualify for state.
WRITE DOWN YOUR GOALS write down your extra workouts this fall -your extra runs, your extra lifts. What are you strength & conditioning goals? How many pull ups, pushups, burpees are you gonna do? How much do you want to squat, power-clean, bench- press?
Forms are due the week of November 10th. They can be turned in to Ryan Lamberty. FIRST PRACTICE IS MODAY, NOV. 17. You must have your forms turned in and cleared before you can start wrestling. Matt Ladhoff will be leading pre-season open gym workouts. Dates TBD.
