Volunteering at Southwest High School

Parents make the difference at Southwest. Handing out schedules on the first day of school, spending an afternoon proctoring a student exam, helping a teacher with a special project or event, tutoring a student that is struggling, or regularly monitoring a swimming class are a few of the ways that parents together provide thousands of hours and a wealth of expertise to make the Southwest High School community stronger.

Register to Volunteer by emailing Janice Peterson at Janice.peterson@mpls.k12.mn.us or swhsparents@gmail.com.  We will keep you informed via email of upcoming volunteer opportunities.

The school's Volunteer Coordinator, Janice Peterson, and the PTSA work closely together to match up parents with the many volunteer opportunities at the school. Janice focuses on the needs during the school day and in the classroom. The PTSA takes responsibility for several events that often are community focused (You do not need to be a  PTSA member to volunteer at the school).
