"Turn on the Lights"

Hello SWHS Women’s Soccer Families

Turn on the Lights at Southwest Stadium is moving forward with good progress. Our gala event is scheduled for Saturday March 16th at the Atlas Grill in Minneapolis. Join us from 6 to 10pm to support SWHS. Enjoy light refreshments, cash bar and silent auction, with some amazing items. There will be musical entertainment and lots of friends to spend the evening with. You can learn more about the project and how you can help bring great things to Southwest High School.

Tickets are available through the school office or contact Craig or Harold. The cost is 40.00 per ticket.

We still are looking for great items for the auction so if you are able to help let us know.

The auction is full of great things that will entice us all to contribute to this great cause. Such items as hotel stays, Vikings and Gophers tickets as well as Southwest memorabilia will be yours for the bidding. The Southwest Soccer Women's Booster Club needs you!

A successful season starts long before the shin guards are strapped on and the cleats are tied tight. It starts with the Booster Club getting organized to provide four teams with coaches, refs, fields, announcers, and of course concessions!

How can you help:

v Registering players for tryouts

v Kick-Off Soccer Picnic: We co-host the Kick-Off Soccer Picnic to provide information to the parents and players about the upcoming season.

v Soccer Saturday: the best soccer weekend -- and biggest fundraiser -- of the season – Saturday, September 29. All four teams will play against the South Tigers.

v Senior Recognition Day and the Banquet.

Practice: v Practice during school: Practice time is generally 3:30-5:00, Mon-Fri every day there is not a game. Varsity and JV will practice at Armatage Park. Players will need to organize rides with other players or their parents in order to get there on time. The B and C Squads will practice at Pershing Park and players will be able to walk there after school.
