A graduate of Augsburg College, he is currently working on his Masters of Music Education degree from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago.  As a professional musician, Keith sings in an a cappella quartet the Merrie Old Christmas Carolers and plays trombone as a freelancer with various Twin Cities orchestras and jazz groups.  He is a member of the Minnesota Band Directors Association (MBDA), Minnesota Music Educators Association (MMEA) and the American String Teachers Association (ASTA).

Folk/Rock/Jazz

This is a new course being offered in the Southwest Music Department.  This performance class gives some of our non-traditional instrumentalists the opportunity to make music in small groups.  Students taking the class should have some musical experience on an instrument.  There will be some instruction on the rhythm section instruments (guitar, piano, bass and drums) to play in different styles and genres.  There will be some basic theory lessons to support and encourage student compositions (arrangements or original songs).
