I currently teach students with special needs. My speciality is Autism. I teach Special Education English, Social Thinking and Transitional Skills.

I have been at Southwest High School since 2004. I have taught in a variety of positions in Special

and Regular Education, in Minneapolis Public Schools,  since 1988. I have taught in EBD, LD, and Autism, in addition to regular  education with 1st graders. I was lucky enough to know that I wanted to be a teacher since I was 9 years old.

I was born and raised in Illinois. I decided I wanted to live in Minnesota right after my college graduation. I moved here in 1987 in pursuit of a job in education. I began my teaching career with preschoolers and then was hired by MPLS in 1988.

I have 2 resident dogs (Jazzy and Sabrina) along with 3 resident cats (Gracie, Oreo and Minnie). I do a lot of foster care for animals that need to be re-homed. In the past, I have been the small animals coordinator and  fundraising chairperson for

This summer I was lucky enough to travel to Greece and build my knowledge on Greek Mythology. It was an amazing experience. We saw ruins that were over 3,000 years old and heard many of the legendary myths. It was a completely different

experience to hear them while looking at all the ancient marble and statues around. We also were there when Greece was in the midst of negotiating the payment of their debt. My heart went out to the Greeks. They are lovely hard-working people.
