Deaf Club meets on Mondays from 3:00-5:00 pm and is open to all students at Southwest High School. Students taking American Sign Language are encouraged to attend to practice their signing skills.
2011 Fall Feast
The Deaf Club had a Fall Feast. There was a lot of food, socializing, and fun. We ate many different foods from Somali and Mexican cultures. We had traditional Thanksgiving food like turkey and mashed potatoes. Last, we had pies and banana pudding for dessert. We hung out with our old friends who are former students and friends from other schools. New friends visited Deaf Club, including ASL (American Sign Language) students. Current and former teachers were also there. We had awesome conversations, making jokes and “catching up.” Deaf Club leaders coordinated the Fall Feast. It was an awesome after school activity!
