SUMMER TRAINING BEGINS ON JUNE 13 2016. Monday-Friday 7:30 am and 4:00 pm. Led by head coach Zhao. Incoming 7th, 8th and 9th graders welcome.
This is the time to come out and give cross-country a try. No registration required. It is free. Morning: long runs and intervals. Afternoon: technique and speed work on the track.
The season starts on August 15 2016. You need to fill out the athletic forms and have a physical in past 3 years in order to start practice on August 15 2016. Forms can be downloaded from the SW web site. (You must be enrolled in a Mpls Public School to be eligible to be on the team) . Forms can be downloaded from the Southwest High School athletics homepage and completed before registration. Need a physical with in 3 years.
The current calendar is shown below and will be updated as events and meets are scheduled. To view the full calendar please scroll down. The times listed for meets are for start of first race and start of last race. In cross country, there can be several races for age, sex, JV, Varsity. The practice times may also vary day to day. Practice is generally twice daily Mon to Fri until school starts, plus a Sat morning practice. It sounds like a lot of practice, but you do not have to attend all the practices. Come as much as you can, and you will really improve.
