Competition is normally on Saturdays with tournaments hosted by local area high schools.  Debate events are held from October through December.  A typical contest would consist of a student on a team of two to debate in four rounds with two of the rounds being on the affirmative and two rounds on the negative.  Students are judged in each round and provided a critique sheet at the end of the tournament.
