THE APPROPRIATE QUARTER

Physics is not like mathematics where there is a specific assignment ever day, followed by the test. The general trend in physics will be to take one or more days to introduce the material of the next chapter the day following a test. The PHYSICS Chapter notes listed below are what I use to introduce each new chapter. The day following this introduction, I usually will assign the Exercise Worksheets, which will be due the following day. That will be followed by one or more days where the Concept Development Practice Worksheets are assigned. Then there may be a laboratory, which I select from various sources, and possibly problems (either directly from the book - immediately following the chapter or at the end of the book, or from the Math Worksheet). This will usually be followed by a day of review, and then the chapter test.

This may vary slightly from chapter to chapter depending upon the material, of the chapter itself, the class’s needs, or various other factors. Hopefully this will be of some assistance in the event there is a long period of illness, or absence from school. All of the worksheets mentioned above and as well as the problems and some of the lab sheets, are available through the textbook online. This may be accessed here, using the Help-Link page. Click the words to move there directly. The login name is "Southwest." Ask your child for the password! The PowerPoints provided by the book are also online, if you need. I use these to review for the test! They may be accessed by going to the Power Point Presentation link.
