What's your impression of Southwest?

To the Southwest Community,

This survey was created to gather staff perceptions about Southwest High School as we plan for our future and transition to become a Community Partnership School.  The results of this survey will be shared with staff, parents and students in the coming weeks.  Please answer honestly.  We appreciate your willingness to help.

Thank you.

Sweet Charity Auditions Moved!

Sweet Charity Spring Musical Auditions Have Been Moved!  Auditions will now be held Monday and Tuesday, December 5-6 at 3:15 in the Auditorium. Come either day. Callbacks will be Wednesday and Thursday, December 7-8 at 3:15. Be prepared to dance in a group with material provided by directors, and bring a section of a song to sing a cappella. You may sing Happy Birthday! Due to the short notice of this schedule change, please contact a director if you have a conflict to work something out. Ms. Berg, Mr. Fisher and Ms. Callahan.

Thank You Minneapolis!
Dear MPS families and Minneapolis community members,
We are deeply grateful to the voters of Minneapolis who demonstrated their commitment to our students, schools and community by renewing the school referendum on Election Day.
Blood Drive

Southwest High School is having a blood drive on December 6th in the East Gym. One donation saves three lives and only takes about thirty minutes! Anyone is encouraged to donate, for eligibility guidelines, look here: For students or adults who are over the age of 17, sign ups to donate at the drive can be done at and use the sponsor code 0298. 16 year olds must get consent forms from the main office starting November 21 and turn them in when they sign up for a donation appointment during lunch. Snacks and smiles will be plentiful all day long. Make sure to eat healthy, high-iron foods close to the day of the drive. Come save lives with Southwest!  Contact Julie Pekala at with any questions
